What of proud legacy born of blank snow
Emerging there a changeling from the ice,
Where ancient gods did to a world bestow
A charter to subdue the world with might:
‘Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth,
And subdue it: and have dominion over
The sea, … and everything that moveth;’
So did this pallid proxy rise to foster
The edict of the holy so decreed
And with all sapient might his brain could muster,
Did dominate the lands, the skies and seas.
His brethren every progress did adopt,
Besmirching yet all wonders that he wrought.
