Sonnet 166

The universe exploded into light,
And in an instant, my love for you formed;
Dark energy propelled it through the night
‘Midst matter black and cosmic clumps there torn.
A stellar nursery formed our first star,
By gravity’s embrace—a bond too strong;
Then burst apart—a supernova war—
And in a pico-second, love was gone.
Yet unseen forces drew us back again,
A nebula of ancient astral dust,
Erasing there that void where loss had been,
Compressing then a plasmic core of trust;
And love so fused, once more our star did shine—
A symbol bright, born at the edge of time.
